    • 100% Flight Nylon: The MA-1 Flight Jacket is constructed with a 100% mid-weight flight nylon shell. Because the jacket is reversible, you can also flaunt the bright orange nylon fabric. Dry clean only.

Trying to replace an XL sized jacket purchased in 2018 that was damaged, but the 2019 jacket that is marked XL is a whole size too small. Ordered a replacement for the replacement and it is also too small! What gives? For the price, I expect consistency. 1 star, would be zero if possible. Anybody got a used one from last year they can sell me?1Comparing the slim fit to the regular fitSo the jacket is high quality nylon with strong thread as well. The cut and fit are spot on military. With all that being said I was looking closer at the fit between this and the slim fit. One thing must be understood about the original, it s made to work with other military clothing and equipment. As an example, if you re wearing a flight suit and other equipment you need a jacket that fits over this and allows your arms to move freely. This jacket as a result has generous room in the upper arm area and a pocket attached to the left arm. It looks great! I can even wear a hoodie underneath without a problem. If you re looking for a less functional but more fitted look go for the slim fit. The arms on the slim fit are less roomy but look better for sure. Either style looks great. The only down side to this jacket is all the loose threads. They really aren t an issue. Just take some sciccors and trim away. I use a lighter after I trim the thread low. If you do that be careful not to burn anything you don t want burned. So, maybe don t use the lighter. Lol. The fit also reminds me of a tanker jacket I used to wear in the Army. So now that you know remember that, knowing is half the battle. 5I love this jacketI love this jacket. Great quality, warm and versatile.I'm 5'9" 176lbs, 41" chest, 32" waist, 16" arms, muscular athletic build. I bought the medium and small sizes to try. The small fits me well. Sleeves are perfect, rides right above the waist, doesn't look boxy. Fits like the picture on the model. Zipped, it's a little tight at the chest but looks better than the medium on me.The medium fit in the chest but the sleeves were too long and bunched up at the wrist. The medium was unflatteringly boxy, especially at the waist.I tried the slim fit medium and it was too tight everywhere but the waist. Very satisfied with the small.5An American Classic with Good Looks, Fit, Finish, Comfort and DurabilityThis is my third Alpha Industries jacket. My first one is 35 years old and now used for chores; my second was a black MA-1 that I've had for like 20 years and worn extensively, but the zipper finally shred itself, but I still use it, but I decided to treat myself to a new one in Replica Blue and it's a beauty with the same great fit, finish and casual comfort as the one I have come to expect, and with what looks like an upgraded zipper.By the way, the jacket listed as Navy actually had a slight greenish cast making it more teal blue than Navy, but I exchanged it for the Replica Blue, which is a nice, dark true navy blue.5Good jacket... Well madeJacket is top quality. I wore one back in the 90s and I loved it. I've wanted one again for the last few years and finally bit the bullet and began shopping for it. Unfortunately, army/navy stores are all gone in my area so Amazon to the rescue.I'm saddened to learn you cannot find the original USA made jackets anywhere. If you do, you are lucky. Alpha Industries has shipped labor to China on these jackets. Aside from that, they are definitely made very well. Alpha must have sought out a quality manufacturer.As far as fit goes, I wish it was like an inch or two longer otherwise it fits everywhere else. The waist sits right on my belt line and constantly pops up above my belt which is not only uncomfortable, it looks funny. I have to constantly pull it down, especially if I reach above my head for anything.Jacket is warm enough for winter. I am tall and thin and I get away with a long sleeve t-shirt, a buff and this jacket. Along with a good hat I was warm in conditions down to single digits. Granted, I'm not using public transportation or working outdoors so I can't vouch for using it for hours and hours out in the elements but it is rain repellent and still so after a few months of use.Overall, I am happy with it. I think the price is a bit high though. This is maybe a $60 jacket being sold for over twice the price however I tried buying direct from Alpha and they were charging more than Amazon sellers.4The real deal, not a China KnockoffOk, I bought a jacket from another vendor and when it arrived within five minutes I was packing it up to return it. It was a cheap missized China knockoff. This jacket (although it's MADE IN CHINA) is the real deal. Fits according to size chart. Heavy duty construction and was well worth the extra $40 compared to all the knockoffs that are being sold. As a big man 6'4" 280 the XXXl the sizes posted was spot on. It's long enough and don't ride up your back or belly. You can tell by the weight that it is well constructed and is built to last. If you are looking for this type of jacket, don't settle for the $45 one it's junk. Spend the extra money for a quality product. Alpha, you would get the full 5 stars if Americans made this jacket. I look forward to wearing it.4I got the cocoa color and it's awesome, originally I was gonna get the maroon but ...I got the cocoa color and it's awesome, originally I was gonna get the maroon but cocoa was 70 in my size. I'm really glad I got the cocoa instead, it's darker than the pictures, almost a clay color. I'm 6' 180 36 waist and I got an xl. Fits perfect, L would be too short imo. I also have an XL Slim fit N3B parka that I can't imagine fitting in a size down5Ray-bans of bomber jacketsIf you like the Aviator look you'll like this jacket. Here's what you need to know when ordering this bomber jacket...1) Order 1 size up. At least on me, I'm glad I ordered the XL rather than the L.2) It is bulky. That might not be for everyone, but I didn't have a problem with it. Look up Steve McQueen in the movie "The Hunter". That's part of the classic styling. There's a slim fit version of this jacket, but I didn't order it and can't speak to it.3) The sleeves are longer than the waist, so it rides up your back when sitting down. There are tall sizes available on the AI website, but not sure if that would throw off your sleeve length.4) This jacket is warm. Easily a 3 season jacket (Fall, Winter (especially with layering. Another reason to go a size up), and Spring). Not sure how it would hold up in arctic temperatures, but in summer (even cool summer nights I think), you'll be way too hot.5) It looks great and is versatile. Except for formal business settings, this jacket can go from work to play rather easily.5I love this jacket but it may be too bulky for someI am very happy with this product. It's very warm and stylish. I get compliments on it every time I wear it.
