AnchorRescue, a smart alternative to a trip line is a two-part system. One part stays attached to the anchor at all times and the other is sent down to the anchor only when it becomes fouled, allowing for effective recovery. The retriever is made from UV resistant UHMW with stainless steel fittings and is supplied with a bridle for attaching your retriever line. It should always be kept on board in the nylon bag provided in case deployment is necessary for a fouled anchor. The slider and tether are stainless steel and attached to the anchor at all times. The tether chain is supplied in a length longer than normally required and the excess can be cut after installation. A stainless steel shackle is included to facilitate attaching the tether to the trip point of the anchor and ample cable ties are provided. AnchorRescue is currently available in three sizes to match the size of the chain used at the anchor. Designed for the marine environment, AnchorRescues moving parts are US manufactured 316 stainless steel and the product carries a one-year limited warranty. AnchorRescue works with most anchor types including claw, plow and scoop. It may work with pivoting fluke anchors like the Fortress and Danforth but requires modification to the tether arrangement and in some cases the anchor itself. Its use with these anchors is less than optimal and is not recommended at this time.
