Good product, couple weak spots, great customer service.Edit:The staff for both the seller and the manufacturer have been great to work with! My original post is below. I had a warranty issue, and they promptly resolved it, sending another bag. I have a suggestion to any buyers: the straps, when pulled in the direction they're reinforced, are just fine, it was when the strap was pulled 'against the grain' is when it failed.Original Post:The bag functions great as a dry bag, and is at a great price. It appears to be made of thick material. But much like other reviews one of my straps partially tore off in the first week of use while out fishing. Maybe I got a lemon. I just emailed their staff, hopefully their customer service is as good a deal as this was and not shoddy like my thread. I sent them pictures so we'll see. Below is my message to them:"The first week out with my Aqua Quest 'Mariner' Waterproof Backpack Dry Bag Day Pack - 10 L / 600 cu in. - Green Model one of the shoulder straps tore partially off just like a few have reported. I've attached pictures for reference. I like the bag but those seams held up to less than a weeks use. I'm going to review the product but I believe those ratings are editable, should you allow a replacement or partial refund I will gladly do so." 4Absolutely no complaints--Worked perfectly.I bought this bag to go kayaking and do other beach-related stuff in Puerto Rico. It mostly stayed tied on top of the kayak, but I also swam for maybe 5 minutes with it on my back. No leakage at all. I'm not sure how long it could stay submerged without taking water, but the seal that is created seems pretty solid, and I wouldn't be surprised if the contents would stay dry if submerged for a short while. Maybe I'll try it out in my bathtub and update my review.Style-wise, it's not nearly as ugly as I imagined. It's definitely no fashion statement (at least not a good one!), but it's not terrible looking. The shoulder straps are somewhat thin. It's not a big deal, but my preference is for thick, sturdy, padded straps. I used the side strap to buckle another small bag onto (with two pairs of snorkels and goggles) and two pairs of sandals, and it held up.Durability-wise, I used it for maybe 4 full days around Puerto Rico, both for walking and in beach-related activities, and it remains in like-new condition (somewhat surprising and impressive to me). I'm not sure what it would take to get a rip in it, but definitely not kayaking, swimming, laying on the beach, or being tossed on some rocks.One thing to note is that the 10 L bag is somewhat small, or at least smaller than I would have liked. Completely my fault as I had no idea what 10 Ls amounted to. It fit two beach towels (kind of fluffy), two phones, a point and click camera, a wallet, a small clutch, keys, a fold-up map, a folded up backpack, two pairs of socks and two extra shirts fine, but just barely. It was extremely tight. If I were to ever get another one I would go at least the next size up. 5Great bag!Bought this bag for a 2 week motorcycle trip so I could pack all the camping gear in the dry bag. It worked great, held a lot of gear, tent, matt, pillow, light, seat, sleeping bag. I am a very active 23 year old who loves to hunt and fish. I am also very into the survival skills life style. I have now owned the 30 L and the 10 L Aqua Quest dry bag systems. Let me tell you you can not find a better bag then these. Not to mention the price this costs you in comparison to other systems. The material is rugged and thick but also remarkably flexed and strong. This bag(s) has been used through both hunting and fishing season. Furthermore these have accompanied me on many hiking/camping/survival trips. The best features of these bags specifically the back pack ones is the handle strap/adjustable back straps/top clips. These are the best features because of the utility it gives the bags. Side note you could technically lock this bag to make its accessibility a bit tougher to get in but may not be completely secure. Moreover these bags have a host of other features water tight/proof. Is easily packed and closed. Did i forget to tell you how comfortable theses are. I 100% support these bags this company and everything they produce. If you are thinking about buying this do yourself a favor and overnight it. You wont be regret it. Ps. A great tip is you generally think of these bags as a means to keep your goods dry. However if you have access to fresh water or need to move water/store it for later use these could be the difference between life or death. I commonly used the 10 L to hold water and occasionally fish. I cant wait until my next one! 5Huge and great color!Comfortable, adjustable straps! I filled it up with my stuff to see how the weight distributed and I liked it. Like another user commented, the fold in the bag is a little concerning because mine has been folded to a point where a little hold has formed. Maybe a new folding method for shipment could solve this. I just don't want to find out the hard way while on vacation. I will return it due to this but will reorder. Love the side handle and straps. The bag is HUGE. 30L in this form is very spacious. I travel backpack only and use a dry bag as my day pack and love that it protects my belongings and is lightweight. 4I like it!Thats the simplest thing to say. I like it well enough I intend to order another, in the next size bigger. 5ExcellentI've taken this out on a couple hiking trips that involved wading/swimming through parts of rivers. It has kept everything perfectly dry. As a bonus if you capture air in it when you close it it makes a great floatation device as well.Before I went hiking I gave this a great test by throwing it in the swimming pool, floating on it, shoving it underwater, letting it float around for a few hours and then the neighborhood kids came over and I told them it was a toy. They threw it around, jumped on it, shoved it underwater, etc for another couple hours and when I opened it there was not a drop of water in it.I also like the bright yellow. Even though its ugly, if I get in an emergency situation where I have to be rescued on a hike for some reason, people can see this big yellow thing from a good mile away.My only complaint is there are no pockets inside, so to get at anything in my bag I have to pretty much empty it out. I'm going to have some pockets added, but of course its important not to sew them on since that would open up tiny leaks. I'll have the pockets added with adhesive on some heavy duty cloth and have the pockets sewn to that cloth.***EDIT 2-3-14 I had a problem with the straps coming disconnected from the bag as someone else described. I bought this from Gear Out Here and they were very helpful. They filed the warranty claim with the manufacturer for me and sent me a replacement before it was even approved. I had a new bag in about 3 days. I would definitely buy from them again. I've been using this bag on a lot of hikes and still love it. I have some cooler gel that you would usually put in a cooler. I put it in my bag with my water for the day. A couple weeks ago I went out for a hike in the full hot sun (this is Los Angeles, so yes there is full hot sun in January). After about 3 hours I took out my water and it felt like it just came from the fridge. This bag really reflects the heat and keeps in the cool. 5Great large dry bag.I got one this size and two of the size down for a weekend kayaking trip where we were camping as we went along. It held a lot of gear and was being pushed, pinched, and stretched to get into the stern behind a stiff seat-back. It worked great, never swamped it but it got plenty wet and sat in maybe 1/2 in of water for an extended period without any seepage. I liked the straps and handle combination for porting and tying the bag down. I got a large sleeping bag and a two-man tent compressed into it. The smaller bags were just as good and took similar abuse without even scratching the bags. 5Excellent portable dry-bag vehicle for water activitiesTook this dry-bag with me to Hawaii and Central America for the purposes of keeping camera equipment, medical equipment, and important documentation dry/safe in situations where 8 hours of the day would be in/near water and/or involved activities that were in the water and the bag may be submerged.I have two other dry bags (Aqua-Quest 'The Himal' 20L & Sea to Summit eVent Compression Dry Sack) but consider this to be my Go-To bag for water-activities. After two major trips (as mentioned above) and light-usage on small trips, this bag has held up well and is still intact without any damage (there are minor scuffs) or tears. For the price, I was expecting the straps the give-out on the first trip. Fortunately, this was not the case and has held up well. The side-strap on the dry-bag is also very useful in different situations.Due to the weight of my contents (e.g., camera + small lens, med kit, small items), the bag barely floated. If you have less contents, of course it is more likely to float. However, please note that this bag does not offer much room nor support for carrying in long durations. If you plan on having a camera and a large lens (e.g., Canon 70-300mm L) inside the bag, look at the larger bags or elsewhere. Also, if you plan to hike or travel large distances with this bag on your back, you may want to consider dry-bags designed for such activities with better support and shoulder straps. I carried this on my back for only 2-4 hours a day and did not notice any discomfort but could easily imagine being uncomfortable with this bag on my back for a longer duration and more weight.One downside with dry-bags, based on their design, but more so with this dry-bag, is that the contents are difficult to reach. I noticed that the mouth of this dry bag is slightly smaller than others but this did not cause any problems. Also, given the type of material, there was no elasticity for any give. But again, this was by design and was not a problem; there was still much room for items to be placed in.My scope/requirements/experiences by priority:- Keep camera equipment (DSLR, small 28mm lens, SD cards, batteries, GoPro accessories, etc), medical kit (8 x 6 x 3.5-Inch), and any important documents dry- Expected and experienced bag to be submerged in water for less than three minutes at a time- Expected and experienced rainfall- Expected and experience long durations of sun- Portable for water activities and travelGiven the price of the dry-bag (currently at $25) and how it met my requirements, I am very glad with my purchase. My only recommendation is to be mindful of how you pack this bag:- Plan for the safety of your items (if your bag fell on the floor, on what would it land)- Plan for the support on your back (place soft items along the side where your back will be)- Plan for the security/accessibility of your items (what items should be on the top)Best of luck! 5The product is seems well made and is comfortable to wear even after extended periods of cyclingThe product is seems well made and is comfortable to wear even after extended periods of cycling. I have to carry a lot of stuff when biking to college and this product fits everything I need to bring with me. My only worry is a presence of a rather severe crease that was caused by the way the item was packaged in the bag. The material along the fold appears stretched and there appears to either be a small hole or tear on the surface of the material. Seeing as I carry my computer and various other electronics with me this is a little concerning. I'll be keeping a very close on on this area as I continue to wear the bag in. 3
