Customer Reviews

Great fitting and all day comfort.I love these shoes. I already have these in black and have been using them for work for over a year. They are comfortable. I have very sensitive feet and I wear them for 10 hours a day in a size 14 W and they fit great. I take the stairs and walk a lot to meetings and diffrent floors and It fits great with no foot fatigue. I just don t walk a lot on the streets. I switch to my sneakers and leave these at work to save the sole. Highly recommend.5Nice shoe but sizing is way off!The shoe itself is fine, but good luck getting it in your size on your first order. In every shoe brand on the planet I wear a size 12 regular width. Last time I purchased a pair of Bostonians was at a mall so when the size 12 s there didn t fit I was able to try other sizes and found that the size 11 regular width were my size. So naturally when I ordered this pair or Bostonians from amazon I ordered the 11 s. When they arrived they were the most narrow shoe I had ever tried on! I sent them back in exchange for the size 11 WIDE and discovered they were much too long! I again exchanged them for the size 10.5 WIDE and finally found my size. The shoes look and feel great but come on Bostonian, get your sizing right! What a nightmare!3Best "Dress Shoe" style walking shoe I have ever triedI wear a size 9.5-Medium width (US) and after reading some reviews I decided to order them in a size 9-Wide. Perfect! Some people mentioned a long toe box so I figured "hey, why not go shorter, but wider to accommodate for the smaller overall size, and to possible add comfort" and this has worked perfectly and I ended up with a great comfortable shoe that doesn't look too long and pointy. I would suggest trying this if you're looking at a shoe that might be longer and pointier than you'd prefer. I next bought a $180 pair of fancy dress shoes using this sizing idea and it again worked perfectly. These shoes are super lightweight. They are nice leather and have a smooth and slightly shiny look straight out of the box.The insoles are better than most AND they are removable. I was easily able to pop them out and put in my expensive custom insoles from my foot doctor and these shoes have been perfect for me from day #1.Note: for a wide (W) shoe, I think they still may be a bit narrow. If you normally wear wide (W) shoes already, these might be a little snug. The Look:For GOOD comfortable slip-on style walking/standing shoes - these look the most like a "dress shoe" of all the 10 or 12 shoes I tried. I needed that for my work wardrobe.Toss wooden shoe-trees in them when you take them off and you'll keep wrinkles away and have them looking new for a long time.A really great shoe. I have already recommended them to some other folks. I'd absolutely buy them again.5Not the same as Bostonian shoes I have purchased in-store...wish I would have returned them.I have purchased this style of Bostonian shoes three other times before and they have fit great. Takes a little bit of time to break in, but they are durable, long-lasting, and comfortable for a dress shoe. I decided to buy them on Amazon to save a little money instead of the store since I felt confident that they would fit well. Unfortunately, as soon as I purchased them I knew I should have returned them. I figured they were just new and had to be broken in. The right toe box felt tighter. I have had these shoes for 4 months now and wear them everyday for work. The top shoe in the picture is the left shoe and the bottom shoe is the right. You can see the differences in the stitching that create a smaller toe box in the right shoe. It may not look like a lot, but it feels noticeably tighter. And now having worn them for months, I am starting to feel the effects. I'm starting to develop a Morton's Neuroma because the toe box on the right shoe is smaller than the left.I'm sure not every one of these shoes are like this, but the quality does seem inferior from other Bostonian shoes of the same style I have purchased in the store. I am having to replace these shoes sooner than I expected because of the poorer quality.2As comfortable as sneakersThese are the most comfortable shoes I could find (in fact any Bostonian "Flexlite"). I purchased several pairs over the years as they don't last too long, but for the comfort they offer they are well worth it. The only issue I had with the "Bolton Free Oxford" is that Clarks replaced the traditional Flexlite insole with new ones that say "Commonwealth" instead. They are as comfortable as the older Flexlite, but make the shoes fit tighter. I've always bought 10 1/2 M and now with these new insoles I have to go with 10 1/2 Wide.4Two years in with these shoes and no regrets on the purchase.I am reviewing these shoes after owning them for over two years and I still wear them 3-4 days per week. They are comfortable and I love how easily they slip on, yet still look professional. The soles and toe box have held up well to the years of regular use. There are a few scratches here and there, but these shoes still look great and will continue to be part of my regular business wardrobe.I wear a size 14 with a slightly wide foot and found these shoes to be comfortable right out of the box. Hats off to Bostonian for making such an awesome shoe!5Great Everyday ShoeIf you're looking for a shoe that says I'm a high roller and I've got plenty of money, I would not recommend this shoe. If you're like me and like to wear a decent formal shoe that can go through whatever life throws at you, this is a good option. I'll wear this everyday to the office, which means it will occasionally make its way to the oil field in dirt and mud. A quick rinse on the outside and I'm back to the office. For those actually interested in the condition of the shoe:1) Owned this shoe for 3+ months2) Used pretty much everyday3) Sole is still in great shape (I've had shoes where this goes out very fast)4) Fabric on inside still looks new5) Still haven't needed to polish it, but it could probably use a touch up soon5The Best Dress Shoe For The $$$'sBought these three years ago, and they lasted through a lot of office walking and all kinds of weather. My normal dress shoe size is an 11.5, yet purchased a size 11.0 because shoes usually stretch a bit. The size 11 was snug, but comfortable, and after few days the shoes "relaxed" around my feet. Keep them clean and polished, and you might get three years too. Bought, bought again, and will buy yet again.5Upper leather not holding up to ordinrary use. After only 3 months' routine use, the leather on the sides has begun to crack, making this relatively new shoe look like it has been around for several hard years. Further, the Amazon photo depicts a patent leather surface but it is instead a dappled leather which does not take a good shine, I suppose because it refracts light. I lived with that because the shoe is very lightweight yet has exceptional arch support. Also, on the negative side, the elastic under the tongue of the shoe does not stretch sufficiently for ease of inserting one's foot. This put stress on the toes of the wearer's socks. Buyers should be aware that many of the sizes offered have a standard and a wider-than-standard width, so know your foot size.1Great upgrade over the originalI've been buying this style of shoe from Bostonian for a few years now, and I've always found them to be incredibly comfortable. With this CURRENT design of the shoe, I've found the toe box to fit exactly as it should (previous versions of this shoe were slightly tight). The soles are harder than previous versions of the shoe, so I would expect them to last longer. The tread on the bottom is also slightly more aggressive and resistant to slipping, when compared to the old version. They even added padding to the inside of the shoe to make it more comfortable if you're standing/walking a lot. If you're looking for a slip-on style dress/business casual shoe, I would definitely recommend these. For sizing, it's hard to say what's "true to size" anymore, since different shoes tend to be sized differently. Please consider:I wear these shoes in means 10W with minimally padded/thin dress socks, and it they fit exactly. Most of my other shoes are mens 10.5, my boots 10.5W (with heavily padded boot socks) and my (contemporary) running shoes are 11 (with moderately padded socks). Hope this helps people trying to figure out their size.5
