Happy HubbyThis is my husbands 8th shirt in this style. His mother gave him his 1st one last summer and he loved it so much he sent me to our local department store to buy him another which thankfully it was on sale and even more thankfully I checked my Amazon department store and found them here and if you luck up on a lower price which I've hit on occasion my husband is even happier. I hang up after washing in the machine and lightly iron after the shirt dries which is pretty quick. These shirts do pick very easily but my spouse does not care. He even has stains of some sort and he still wears them. He has plenty of short sleeved shirts but have his 1st one of these last summer he will not wear anything else and his friends that have these shirts feel the same way. It's a hoot hearing them talk about how much they love these shirts. 5Very good, comfortable and durable shirtI like these shirts a lot, and they fit me really well, unlike the "Silver Ridge" line from Columbia which is for a "trim" fit, even if you're an XL. If you're a REAL XL like me (6'2" 240 lbs) then get the Tamiami 2 or Bahama lines. I actually like the Bahama line a little better because the front pockets are simpler - just 1 pocket with a Velcro closure flap on each side. The Tamiamis have multiple pockets of various sizes and closures on each side, which may be great for fishing but are much less useful and slower to access for just around town wearing. On the plus side, the material used in Tamiamis feels GREAT on the skin, almost like silk underwear. 5Tamiami Short Sleeve Fishing SHIRTSI ordered 4 (so will do only one review) for my husband. He had purchased one at Cabellas for $40-60 (forget exactly how much but way more than the ones from Amazon!!). He's a photographer and found the shirt cool and the pockets a great help while shooting. I found that washing & drying it was a pleasure, so when he was going to be shooting in hot weather, I ordered more to get him through the week. He was very pleased. They fit well, are comfortable, easy to care for and look good. 5Brand You Can Count OnLooks good on my husband, he received several compliments at a family gathering. He says it s comfortable and fits well across the shoulders. Length is good. Pricey shirts but overall great value in fit, style, and years of wear. He has tried to wear a similar brand that s popular at a large sporting goods chain store. Their brand is cheaper, seems well made, and a lot of his friends who wear 2X and up recommend them. But no matter how often he tries, the fit across the shoulders and overall comfort are not as good for him. So, as long as Columbia continues to make these shirts, we ll continue to buy them. 5100+ Degrees in Las Vegas - No Problem!Bought this shirt and couple others for a trip to Las Vegas, primarily because temps were going to be 99-102 during my stay. Weather reports were accurate, it was HOT! The other shirts I purchased performed admirably, but the Tamiami II blew them away! So light and breathes amazingly.Not sure about the experience of others, but many people noted these run very large. That was NOT the case for me. The 2XL I originally received was quite small. (think "fat guy in a little coat" - Tommy Boy). I exchanged for the 3XL and it was perfect. 5The Best Summer Shirts EverAs someone who has a hard time finding 2X Tall shirts the first thing I'll say is the sizing options for these shirts are THE best. But, followed closely by the fact that I can find them in my size is the love for the shirt itself. These are durable, lightweight, travel well and look fantastic. There are a few different styles, some more sporty for fishing and some a bit simpler (like this one). I wear them for work and for casual (although my work is casual). Just a fantastic everyday shirt. 5immediately sent backim 6'2" 290 lbs. Got the XXLT. was still short. all the reviews were of how thin it is and how much it breathes... i took it outta the box and was immediately like are you kidding me. i checked all the ventilation on it and was like ok.... whatever. put it on and the mesh inside wasnt scratchy like others had said and did feel light but didnt feel nice at all. put my fan on high stood right in front of it and i could not feel the air at all thru the shirt. total waste of time and effort.im a chef. my kitchen has an average temp of 87f everyday even in the winter. some days up to and over 94f.extremely disappointed 1Amazing ShirtAwesome fabric... True to size, 3XT works perfect for my husband... He loved them so much I ordered 16 of them in multiple colors... He likes that the Tamiami style does not have pocket flaps, it makes for a sleeker smooth front. Also having the baffles on the back sides, instead of across the whole back, makes for a dressier look. They keep him cool, and comfortable all day! I got them for my husband to work in, and he likes them so much he's afraid he will mess them up at work.... The colors are beautiful and the price is great... My husband is 6'1" and 240 lbs ... The 3XT works great, It's good and roomy ... Can't go wrong with these shirts !! 5Immaculate workmanship and extremely lightUpdate: Wore in South Pacific: Stains rinse out 100% and effortlessly. Dries rapidly in tropic humidity. The sizes run a little big, not a lot. The fabric is a crisp polyester rip-stop with a slight stretch. The workmanship is immaculate. Bizarrely, this shirt, with all its pockets and vents and other comparatively elaborate construction, weighs less than a sturdy tee-shirt in the same size, and is markedly cooler, yet the SPF is said to be 40. The fabric contains a (quaternary ammonium) anti-microbial, to prevent the infamous sour dish rag smell for which polyester is known. Due to the cut of the tails, you can wear it un-tucked without looking like a slob. This shirt is extremely popular with diving professionals in the Australian / Indonesian / Fijian area. One guy said it's all he wears. He was lying: he had on pants and shoes. Hey, can't win 'em all. Have one long sleeve: sleeves are roomy and the light fabric flows like silk. Ole!Note on colors: I have the sail (pastel blue); gulf stream (pastel turquoise-ish) and sunlight (yellow). All 3 are opaque and look spiffy. Fossil (greyish cafe au lait) is a dowdy color. Key West (light yellowish pastel green) is slightly more translucent & shade is festive.Note on a more delicate matter: The insides of the breast pockets are mesh. They are a bit abrasive. Let's say you won't be carrying your smart phone in your breast pocket for long, unless you put on some band-aids. Just sayin'. After-trip report: okay with nothing in packet. But caveat mammal, if you put anything in the pocket. A-yee, as they say. 5Literally, the coolest shirt you can own!I own close to two dozen Columbia fishing shirts. Living in Southwest Florida they are almost a uniform given the high heat and humidity you would expect living in a reclaimed swamp. However, this relatively new Tamiami model is by far, my new favorite. Apart from its excellent Wicking properties, that keep it from sticking to you at the first sign of perspiration (yuck). But what I particularly like is that the shirts seem to use material that is both very light and porous, so you get a maximum cooling affect which not only feels good on the skin but also dries quickly if you do perspire a bit in it. By the way the colors in this line really aren t as bright as they appear in the photographs here. The turquoise that I purchased is a very pleasant bright blue I ve already received several compliments about it. Also, just as an aside, I am a very big guy and the XL tall sizes of the Tamiami fit quite well. My Tamiami s are the first shirts I reach for in my closet pretty much year-round here in South Florida. 5
