A great workout!!!!!I've only had this for a couple days but I can already tell then it will give me a great workout!! I really feel it in my arms and my chest I will update this with results later!!!5Highly RecommendedExcellent piece of equipment, and built to last.5For both the young and old.if you are old like me (69), I think this product may be a great way to exercise the arms and chest without aggravating the lower back.That became a problem with free weights in my old age. I start by warming up with the blue Theraband Flexbar (25 lbs. resistance) TheraBand FlexBar Resistance Bar For Medial Epicondylitis, Relieve Tendonitis Pain & Improve Grip Strength, Tennis Elbow, Golfers Elbow, and Tendinitis, Blue, Heavy, Advanced and then it is on to the Python. I have used this thing for not quite a month and am very pleased with the results.(I am trying to add some muscle to help in losing weight.)Also of possible interest, product was estimated to arrive in 7 to 10 days. Got mine three days after I ordered it even though I chose the free shipping option. Tried to save a few bucks by ordering used - like new and saw nothing that indicated previous use.. Does it work as exercise equipment that produces results? Absolutely, without any reservations whatsoever. The trick to working out with this Power Twister is to locate where in your arms you have the optimum leverage. Once you determine that, then that's where your focus should be. Let me explain, I have a lot of difficulty closing this Twister when it's at eye level whether my hands are placed at the end or middle of it. If I bring it down to chess level slightly better. However, when I use it to do bicep curls, amazingly, I can bring the handles to within 6 inches of each other. I'm 69 and weight only 154 lbs.!! This is the arm position where I have the greatest leverage to exert maximum strength and build or tone muscle. So you might say, well that's just biceps. Wrong! Yes, you are doing biceps, but in order to bend the handles of this Power Twister to within 6 inches of each other, your wrists, forearms, biceps, shoulders, and back muscles are ALL WORKING in unison and getting stronger. The stronger all those body parts get the more you'll be able to move around to other points in space. Remember, find your leverage point and stay there because all your upper body muscles are working. And remember to contract your stomach muscles to get them strong too in the process. And don't forget to exhale when you exert and inhale when releasing.Awesome piece of equipment if you use it correctly. I recommend this purchase unconditional. Bought this tool because it looked interesting and I recall seeing it in old time bodybuilding photos. However, never used. Just buy it. A bargain at this price point. This is a great tool for hitting your low lats, serratus, chest and biceps. I really like how I can use a supinated or prone grip and work medial to lateral at varying angles to hit muscles in my back that conventional lifting does not address. One happy customer here. Also, the resistance varys by where you place your hands on the grips. The more medial, the greater the resistance. I have literally picked it up and played with it everyday since it arrived. Another thing is that you can get an instant pump with this thing within a minute. 5This thing really worksI'm using it in lieu of traditional weight training and calisthenics. You might do this as well, or just use it as a primary means of generating muscle strength and endurance - it will absolutely work for you if you use it correctly. Using it with traditional resistance training will absolutely enhance your results.I am gripping it in the beginner's position and doing multiple sets of twelve reps. I have never used any other piece of exercise equipment that has been so effective so fast.I'm 58 years-old and have a lot of nagging joint injuries which keep me from exercising in more traditional ways. Particularly my left shoulder, which has bursitis - causes a very deep debilitating pain and limits mobility of the joint. This device, with attention to proper posture, allows me to exercise my upper body even with the shoulder issue. The shoulder problem keeps me from doing some of the exercises others might be able to with this device, but it doesn't matter. It's ripping my upper body like nothing I've ever used before.I have been using it for just over two weeks, with several days off in between intervals to allow time for my muscles to heal (these things take longer when you're older.) So realistically we're talking about 3-4 days of usage in total with 2-3 days in between for healing. And I can already see a large difference in posture, musculature and overall appearance. It is absolutely blasting my upper chest, lower pecs, lats, intercostals, biceps, triceps, upper abs, deltoids and frankly core muscles I have never felt before and didn't even know I had.It's incredibly effective.Last night someone I know asked me if I had started working out! Again - that's after 3-4 days total using this device. Unreal.**UPDATE**Been about a month I think...Still absolutely love this item. But there are a couple of things I think it important to mention.First, the metal does undergo fatigue from usage. And if the spring weakens under tension, it can break. Be aware about possible failure. I have worn out two of these already - one bent real quickly and I am returning it. This model has an inner safety spring, but if it snaps, it could cut your chest or face depending on where you're holding it when it goes. When. Not if.Second, because it weakens, it takes less and less pressure to bend the bar over time. So after a month, it's not the same unit you started on - it's easier because the spring is weakening. After two months, it's even more so. I have basically committed to buying a new one as needed. It's still cheaper than a gym membership and I am getting insane results.Went from 51" chest to 53". Upper arms are now 17.5" from 16" at start, and my shoulders are now 62 inches around which I don't have a starting measurement for, but I know I've grown. People are noticing and asking me if I work out.**EXTREMELY IMPORTANT**IT IS VERY VERY EASY TO INJURE YOURSELF WITH ONE OF THESE DEVICESI'm 58 years-old and I have been around the block a few times. So dig - this device will strengthen your muscles, but it will not do as much for your tendons and other connective tissues. So as you use this thing and start to gain, please resist the urge we all have for going up in difficulty - either by gripping narrower on this device, or by buying a stronger one. PROGRESS SLOWLY. You might think you're in peak condition and ready to jump up to a 60kg or 80kg power twister. Be very careful advancing in size with this thing. It's not your muscles you will injure, it's the tendons and ligaments and fascia attached to the muscles and bones that will suffer injury.And you might never fully recover from that depending upon how bad it is and where. I'm still using the widest grip but have gone from 8 to 12 and now to 24 repetitions. It's giving me tone in areas I never saw growth in before like neck and upper chest and my tris are the sickest they've ever been at this point.But I'm not going for SIZE with this device.Because from my experience - that's where I'm going to go one rep too many and too heavy and I'm injured in a deep tissue area - and at my age it would probably be game over. Could be for you as well. Be very careful - this thing will injure you in places that don't heal.So go for reps until you can do like 48, then slowly move up in resistance starting with 8 reps, then 12, etc. It's a long game, not quick muscle gain. This thing will rip you, but leave the gains in size to more traditional methods like machines or free weights.Why don't you see these in gyms anymore? Because they wear out and weaken and become dangerous to use, and because people who go too heavy on them tend to injure themselves. Don't progress to too heavy a bar - it's reps reps reps with this thing. Not resistance. It will tear your ligaments in ways you won't recover well from. Permanent damage. Trust me.After a few months of this thing you'll be stronger for sure and you might even get more benefit from free weights because your lesser muscle groups will be lit up. This thing builds core strength like nothing I have ever used.ANY PAIN stop immediately and see a doctor.Don't become a big fat used-to-be weight trainer like I am. Be smart. 5Really regret buying thisThey advertise a wide range of resistance for this thing. The problem is to get the higher resistance, you have to hike your hands up closer to the spring which gives you a totally different workout than a wider grip. The tight grip workout is useless for me and the wider grip has basically little to no resistance. Don't waste your money. It is very expensive compared to other options out there. The key to any of these springs is determining what resistance level you need and ordering one with that level. This 'multi-purpose' spring does not get the job done. 1Meh, feels gimmicky, comes with no guidance for using it.Not sure why I got excited by this. I stumbled across it and thought it would be a great way to add variety to my workout routine. Meh, it's just a tough spring, really. It comes with almost no directions for how to use it other than a few words on the box--suggestions for specific exercises would have been nice. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to use the loops on the ends--as safety straps to keep the thing from going flying if it slips out of my grip? If so, I'm not sure how to use them while gripping the handles at the higher-resistance (inner) position--the loops don't reach that far. Without guidance to good form for using this, I don't feel like I'm getting anything out of it. I used it a couple of times and now it's just collecting dust while I continue my traditional free-weight routine. 2
