Good solid pack, almost perfect.I really wanted to give this backpack a 5 star rating, however it was missing one crucial feature for it s size, a hip/waiststrap. Perhaps shoulder straps with a chest strap works well for men, however woman should carry weight on our hips. Hiking with the pack when full, fatigued my shoulders and back. (I am a petite, but fit, 5 2 .)The pack was purchased in advance of a four-week birdwatching and hiking trip to Colombia. Durability-wise, the backpack performed well. I liked that the material was lightweight, while being tough, The pockets, straps and loops were adequate, and I appreciated options on how I packed my gear. I was able to carry a large camera, binoculars, rain gear, one quart water, snacks, outerwear, book, and other accessories with room to spare. Perhaps if I carried less weight, the pack would have been more comfortable without a waiststrap.It was perfect for the plane, and easily fit under my seat. Although, using as a carryon, it was even heavier and uncomfortable, as I needed to carry batteries and valuables, too.I like the pack well enough that I will probably invest the money in an after market waist/hip strap that will cost me 1/2 of what I paid for the pack! However I hope that Neekox will seriously consider adding a sewn hip strap with fasted buckle. (I would be very interested in field testing it, if they do!) 4I swung, and I missed.I was very intrigued when reading about this bag. It certainly hits on it's selling point of being super lightweight. However, the distribution of weight when you actually fill it is awkward to say the least.What do I mean? Well, if you put your typical pocket items (i.e. phone, wallet, keys) in the bottom pouch, it creates a bottom-heavy situation which is a little uncomfortable on the lower back. It's a rather large pouch, so I assume it's intended to carry quite a few items.I probably should have paid more attention to pocket placement. If you're like me, I would target a bag with the "essentials" pocket toward the top. Aside from this drawback (which, in my own case, is considerable), it is actually a fine bag in terms of durability, as well as capacity relative to weight. I still use it for biking and hiking, but it certainly isn't my dream bag. 3Can't beat it for the price.I just finished a 9 day trip with this new backpack as my primary luggage. I was very surprised at the volume of clothing and personal items that this bag held. The compartments are well arranged and easy to access while being stowed under the seat of an airplane. For the price it would be hard to find a better pack. Not to mention that it actually will fold up into its own pocket.Cons: I prefer a little more padding in the back straps as these straps tend to twist around when loading up. The covered zipper on the back compartment was a little aggravating as the zipper kept getting caught in the weather cover. No big deal, though, as I just had to fold the flap completely back before zipping. 4Versatile...Functional...UsefulTook a family trip from Alaska to San Diego with little kids and took a chance with this backpack...it was worth it! Lightweight, strong, and able to carry all the essentials (coats, snacks,etc.) for six consecutive days of theme parks from the zoo to Disneyland with no issues. Note, it rained two of those days and the items inside remained dry...but I will call out that this is a water resistant backpack NOT waterproof!Great, deep mesh pockets for REAL water bottles!The backpack folds up nicely into its own pocket pouch, which I plan on having in my fishing vest for the upcoming fishing season on the rivers this summer to carry home sockeye salmon. If the pack survives the summer season, this backpack will most likely be my gift of choice for family and friends over the next year...as long as the price stays below $20.Of note, add one of this non-load bearing carabiners to the pack when hiking or in theme parks, good to hang a hat on. 5Easy conversion, great design.Hahaha...omgosh. I love the design of this bag.I've never owned a convertible backpack before, and I've gotten hardcore into hiking and camping the past year. I wanted something that I could stow away easily until I needed it for extra hauling space. I'm also a survival prepper, and recently started thinking, what can I buy that won't take much space, but would let me donate/share useful items with other people in an emergency?This backpack starts as a small pouch. Unzip the double zippers, and it folds smoothly inside out into a 35 liter backpack with chest strap and lots of pocket space. Empty it, roll it back up and inside out again, and it smoothly zips back into a pouch. I say smoothly twice because the reversible zipper is very well designed, I didn't have to struggle even a little to get it to zip/unzip.The backpack and straps are thin, but that's why it's lightweight and collapsible. You're not looking for a super tough, heavy load carrying pack.Love it, Neekfox! 5Freaking Perfect DaypackThis backpack is freaking amazing. I bought it rather impulsively before a trip and literally every day was thinking about how miserable I would have been without it. Perfect amount of pockets, perfect amount of support, I freaking love this thing. Frankly it's better than every other daypack I've ever owned, and so much more affordable.Edit: My 13 year old daughter has commandeered this for herself so I'm purchasing a replacement for myself. 5Inside peeling after 4 daysWas really happy about this bag initially with design. This is a pic 4 days in to trip. Only used as a Day pack with essentials for walking through town. So displeased that I am posting this review while on my trip. Inside top layer of fabric peeling off. 1Really cool backpack, light and big. It is a really cool backpack, my son loves it. It arrived in a small package and I thought it is a wrong item, it surprised us after opened it up. It is big enough to have a lot stuff in. See the video my kids did. 5Big, Roomy, yet LightThis bigger version of the backpack is super roomy and I am very happy with its design and construction. The material is made out of a water resistance material that repels water and unless it is being submerged in the water regular water splashes and rain won't get into it. It's easy to store as it can be folded and fit into a small part of the bag which is the front pocket. I no longer take anything heavier than this super light backpack with me for hiking and picnics where I need to carry heavy things in it. It provides enough pockets for electronics and two side pockets for water bottle, sunscreen spray, etc. 5I have purchased 5 of these backpacks... enough said.I bought one of these on a whim, thinking that it could come in handy in a pinch, if I needed a bag to carry stuff. I keep it in my car trunk. I like that it folds and zips up so compactly and folds into itself! Cool design.I showed it to my mom, and she asked me to order one for her, my dad, and my brother. So, I really have purchased 4 of these. She liked it for the super lightweight. When you put it on empty, you can't even feel it on your shoulders... featherweight!So we decided to used them daily when we traveled through Japan this summer. Unfortunately, I had mine packed pretty heavy most days, between my camera, water bottle, charging power bank, jacket, umbrella, snacks, and other crap! some days I even crammed a small Amazon tripod in there! It held up to 2 1/2 weeks of travel. Stitching, material, and everything else seems to be fine.My dad had a chest strap buckle disappear, but that was prob user error, not the product. He claims he ruined the backpack by sweating too much, and requested that I buy him another one of the same backpacks, so he is a believer of this product!My reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is simple... the little zipper flaps that always get jammed and snagged on every other backpack is especially bad for snagging in the zipper. You have to be very conscious every time you zip or unzip that it doesn't get caught in the zipper. I know this is a common problem in 99% of other cheaper backpacks out there, but it is really prone to getting caught on this pack because the material is so lightweight. If there was a way to remedy this, it would be an easy 5 stars! However, this annoyance brings it to a respectable 4 stars in my book. 4
