Customer Reviews

Normally great bootsNormally great boots, my third pair. However this pair had an eyelet pull out after less than 1 month or wear.2BOOTS ? More like a Hi-Top Sneaker if you ask me !I wasn t happy with this item let me explain .When I purchase a pair of boots I am looking for a level of protection for my feet . This product for the price it s a pure name brand price . No level of protection for my feet what so ever . I wouldn t classify these as boots I would call them hi top sneakers enstead because that s exactly what they feel like . I walk some tough terrains out here in Florida Everglades dangerous wild life out there . I wouldn t bet my life on these alleged BOOTS. if your into name brand items and just want to go to the movies or walk Walmart this product is great . But for a person like me it s just not my cup of tea and this is only my opinion good luck out there guys happy hunting!1Fantastic repeat buyer of Oakly boots.I love these boots. Sizing is spot on with Nike boots. Durable. Fit well. Well made. Shipped quickly.I've had some older Oakley boots that lasted 2.5 years of HARD use on duty and off duty. I had to stop using them on duty after those 2.5 years; tan boots weren't authorised anymore. I've used them occassionally since then, but have lasted another 5 years. These new Oakley boots are much lighter, but the quality apparels to rival my older boots. ...these are the first boots where I can feel cold wind through the canvas in the boots. But they don't appear to be any less rugged. The lacing is a bit loose, but you get used to it quickly.5Good for long rucks and ok for runningYou re going to have to replace the insoles for the shoe. They suck. But once you do that, and wear them in a little bit they start feeling really comfy. Super lightweight not like standard issue boots were feels like you have cinderblocks tied to your feet. you re going to have to replace the insoles for the shoe. They suck. But once you do that, and wear them in a little bit they start feeling really comfy. Super lightweight not like standard issue boots or feels like you have cinderblocks tied to your feet4Heel TroublesUnfortunately, I have to change my review. I really want to like these, my second pair (I bought the first commercially). They are lighter than tennis shoes. The shank, sides, and toe cap of the boot is nearly indestructible although the sole wore out quickly. I was very active with the first pair road marches twice, field time once a month, Etc.. so I had blisters regularly and developed a heel callus that eventually a "Doc" had to cut off. However after rotating them every other day with another brand of boot I noticed that they rub my heels nearest the Achilles tendon. I am only wearing this pair in garrison walking to and from the office (I have a pogue assignment this time) and the heel callus is starting to resurface leading me to believe that it is the seam where the boot material comes together that was and is the culprit of the discomfort. Again, I really want to like them. Oakley made an awesome Assault Boot in Tan, that caused me no problems (I still have 2 Prs of them in the closet). Unfortunately, they but didn't transition that style to the Coyote instead transitioning to the ASSLT II.3Very Good Training Boots (Civilian Use)I bought these boots to begin my pre-bootcamp training. I put two miles in them 6 days out of the week and use them as my preferred dress boot as well. The boots are extremely comfortable with little to no break in time required. Walks that would kill my feet in cheap sneakers have become steady cadenced jogs with these boots. There are some problems though, the boots can start to emit a rubbery sound from the heel and a snapping noise when the tip of the boot flexes. This is not very detracting from the performance of the boot however, I did find it annoying when walking at home or in environments with low noise levels. No one wants to be the guy with the squeaky boots so its a shame that the manufacturer has this problem with their product.4Most comfortable boots I have ever worn!!These are the most comfortable boots I have worn yet in my 10 years in the military. I recommend these to anyone you who is looking for new boot.5Loud and uncomfortable bootI typically don t write reviews but was compelled to after my experience with this boot. Previously owning the old style Oakley assault boot I was thoroughly impressed with the previous versions quality. I wore the previous Oakley style assault boot for over 2 years of heavy use without issue. Based off of that experience, I bought this current version of the Oakley boot without hesitation. That was a mistake.Pros: AR 670-1 compliant, lightweight, and breathableCons: No support with the supplied insoles forcing me to replace the insoles or else I couldn t tolerate wearing the boot, no water proofing in this boot, and this is by far the loudest boot that I have ever worn in my twenty years of military experience. The boot literally makes crunching noises when you walk and the soles continually squeak if they get wet.Overall, I have been extremely dissatisfied with my purchase and for the price feel that there are many better options on the market. Hopefully you read this review before buying.1Not worth the money...I decided to give these boots a try for wear in Garrison as the office shoes and they do well enough for that function. That said, I wouldn t take them anywhere else, not even on a short ruck March. A trending theme among companies these days has been to set their pricing around $150 for a pair of their boots, regardless of build quality or design intent. Since Oakley is no stranger to this sales tactic, I see no shame in telling you that your money is better spent on a pair of Garmont T8s. For the same price, you get a Vibram outsole, quality laces, and excellent ankle support. My last pair of Garmont boots lasted me 4 years through two deployments. I wouldn t trust these Oakley s on a simple field problem.3A good lightweight boot. These are some pretty good boots. They don t have arch support and they are pretty firm but somehow they re still comfortable. They are the lightest AR 670-1 compliant boots on the market which can give you the edge when running in uniform.4
