    The next best thing to going barefoot.Aloha, I absolutely love this shoe... Aside from slippers (flip flops) this is the only shoe I wear. The Olukai brand is great and the shoe performs just perfectly. I work in Hawaii for a Real Estate/property management company. I am in and out of homes and units many times a day and having the flexibility to slip the shoe off and step right back into it without the fuss of tying it or lacing it up is just wonderful. There is plenty of support and I prefer the black mesh with the black sole. I can dress them up or be really casual... It's the next best thing to being barefoot because of the mesh, it allows your foot to breathe. I'm on my 4th pair since I discovered these and the only reason they don't last longer for me is the back border of the mesh tends to stretch out over time and become wobbly on my feet. I prefer to wear the shoe as shown and don't usually slip them on and walk around with the backs under my heel. Usually I wait until I'm in the elevator and tuck my finger inside and pull the heel up and I think that's where the stretching comes to play. The only suggestion I would have for the manufacturer is to reinforce that back top border to keep the tight fit feeling tight. Considering how much I wear the pair before replacing it, I feel it's a great value for what you get. I used to buy them at Nordstrom, but they stopped selling them in the store and were available only through special order. I found them on Amazon Prime for the same price and get free shipping just as Nordstrom did... Love, love, love this shoe! 5Best Versatile Activity Shoes MadeMy 6th pair of OluKai Nohea Mesh Shoes. I get in the habit of buying a new pair each year but have never gotten rid of a pair. Now have a rotation of "good" ones I wear almost daily to business casual work with jeans/khakis and older more worn pairs that go with shorts, to the older ones that i use for boating, yard work and other less glamorous things. Super comfortable with socks or without. Easy to wash in the washing machine. Very durable and most of all very comfortable. I have several pair of 12's and several at 11 1/2's. I would say they run a little large but if you wear with socks they size to normal and without you might want to go down a half size if you wear them in active situations (on the boat, hiking, ect). My older pairs do wear on the soles and have to be careful for grip but yet to wear a pair totally out. I have worn a little hole in a couple pair near my right big toe (probably more my huge toe than quality issue) but on my newer pairs I usually put a small foam insert in that spot and never have to worry about it. They do cost more than most, but such a good investment if you need an active (yet stylish) shoe 5Runs large, then stretches out unreasonable until uselessI had to go down a full size from my normal shoe size to get a proper fit. At first I loved these shoes, especially the insoles- probably the best stock insoles I've ever experienced. Flat out some of the most comfortable shoes out there. And the mesh breathes super well for warm weather, I never experienced sweaty feet... although it breathes so openly that sand will fall right into your shoe through the loosely knit material- so not an ideal beach shoe. Also wouldn't be good protection for wet weather.I've had these shoes for one year now. The mesh material has stretched out over time, and for the past several months they have felt at least a full size too large, maybe more. I feel like I'm a boy again wearing my dad's shoes... it's nearly that clumsy to walk in them. I put washed them on hot cycle (take inserts out first) and they came out normal size, and I got real excited to love them again. They stretched right back out after just one wearing. I would rate the material poor in this regard. They are too loose to stay on my feet while walking.I had hoped these could be my primary casual street shoe for a long time, but I reluctantly just replaced them with something that will hold onto my foot much better. 3Great shoes, but try them on first.These are really great shoes. But...BEWARE...DO NOT BUY THEM ON-LINE!!!! The size varies plus or minus up to 1 full size! Even if you own a pair and know the size you can in no way count on the sizing running the same from shoe to shoe or purchase to purchase. I highly recommend these shoes. Just go to a store to buy them. Even than...TRY THEM ON! TRY THEM BOTH ON! Do not depend on the size marked on the the shoe or even from left to right of the same pair. 2My new favorite shoe for the summer and travelingSome of the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned after you figure out the unique sizing. I usually wear a 14w shoe and sometimes a 15 just because of the width. I originally purchased a 14 in these from Amazon and they were way too big. Amazon took them back without problem and then I found a store that carried them and decided to go in and try on shoes for sizing. Turns out the 13 was a perfect fit so I purchased those and ordered another pair (different color not available in store) from Amazon.These shoes are so light that you hardly know you're wearing shoes. They are also very cool and dry quickly when they do get wet. I don't really have a down side for these shoes and I'll probably order a different style soon with laces. 5After about four weeks the heel of the shoe was squished like an accordionI read all the reviews folks had posted, and I ordered an entire size down from my normal shoe. They were still a bit large. After about four weeks the heel of the shoe was squished like an accordion, and I couldn't pull it back into place without it falling over again. I had only worn them as full shoes and not as sandals, so I'm not sure why that occurred.It was past the return window from Amazon so I contacted Olukai directly. They were fantastic and shipped me a replacement pair free of charge, and in a half-size smaller. It's been about another month and so far this pair doesn't show any wear/tear, the heel is still in great shape, no sagging. They feel as comfortable as the first pair I bought and I highly recommend them. The customer service team at Olukai was terrific and I would totally buy from them again. 4Do NOT Run Large/Poor Construction/Not AntimicrobialI've had these for less than 2 months and they are already done. I've talked to a lot of people about these shoes, thinking they'd be a good slip-on for summer months and around the house. They were not.I did not wear these shoes everyday, but most days of the week. Despite what many of the comments say that these shoes run large, they do not. I found the toe box fairly restrictive for the first week and then as the shoes (and I) adjusted, a little less so. But, as you can see from the photo, they likely run smaller than thought. In less than 60 days the toe box on both shoes is blown out. I am a size 12 but generally purchase a 1/2 size or full size up for running. These were much closer to an 11-1/2.Also, I generally purchase Sanuk or Allbird slip-ons which both have a great antimicrobial insole. The Olukais always felt like my foot was sweating and, judging from the smell, they definitely were. Never had this problem with Sanuks.Love the idea of these shoes, but I will not be purchasing again. Not worth the price. They are practically disposable. 1Comfortable, good-looking, Poorly madeI absolutely love these shoes. They are incredibly comfortable and look good with shorts or a pair of jeans. They work at the beach or at the mall. They are great, except...Their construction is flimsy. I have owned two pair now and on the first pair the thread on the toes started coming out and the shoes began coming apart after a little less than a year. I loved them so much I bought a second pair and they did the same thing in less time. Additionally, the thread on the side panel starting coming out on one of them and they are also coming apart. I love the look and feel of these shoes, but when I pay $80 for a pair of mesh shoes I would hope to get more than a year of use out of them. OluKai you need to get better thread!!! 3Great ShoesFitting experience notes: I generally wear a 12 or 12.5 in Boots or Shoes from other brands - tending to fall between 44-46 EU size. I wear 11 in OluKai sandals and I fill them out entirely, front to back & side to side - including overhanging into the strap area comfortably. The 11 in this was adequate on the length, but just a little too tight across the bridge of my foot and a little too narrow in the arch as well, which makes sense because the material is present as a side wall whereas it is not so on the sandals. I ordered and tried on the 10.5 also and while they fit, but were a little too tight front to back as well as side to side. 11.5 fit perfectly for me, meaning a little loose side to side and front to back. They are casual shoes in aesthetics and comfort level, so I did not desire for them to be tight on my feet and I would rather have them feel like loosely fitted slippers than athletic shoes. I don't mind a little "float" while walking and the real test for me is standing upright or sitting down - the 11.5's do not bind or add any tightness across my feet whatsoever, all I "feel" is the very nice and highly supportive foot bed. They are also easier to slip on and off with the little extra space. I took advantage of this fact and ordered the half size up because OluKai does not offer half sizes in their sandals and I know for a fact from my past experience a 12 would have been way too large. I am glad this half size was an option because I really enjoy the fit and finish of these shoes.The option to flip down the heel retainer is nice for quick slipper functionality. I don't really like the feeling of the material under my heel while standing for long periods of time, so I don't see myself wearing them this way a great deal, however it is nice in the mornings when you are feeling lazy.The mesh material is very breathable and I enjoy this aspect of the design, I imagine it will make them much more wearable in the hot summer months.I would also like to mention the Onyx/Oynx color is a true black. It appears with somewhat of a brown tint in the product photos and I was concerned about this but upon initial inspection they are black/black as I desired. Thank you for the great shoes OluKai, I am going to stick with your brand for a long time. Very happy customer.Major upgrade in fit and finish and overall style versus my old cheap canvas Sanuks. 5they are really comfortable. If you have plantar fascitis or other foot ...I wear a 9 in every shoe I've ever worn. These are a hair loose in size 8.5. They have worn down really fast just over one summer of moderate walking, never near water or rain or mud, just sidewalk. Other than that, they are really comfortable. If you have plantar fascitis or other foot issues, look elsewhere. They're comfortable when you try them on because they are light as air, but they provide no support. Super painful when you're about halfway through the grocery store! If your feet are young and tough, you might love these for summer kicks. 3
