Customer Reviews

Good beginner skatesI got these skates for my son who is still learning but needed his own skates and not the rink rental skates anymore. They are affordable, considering he will outgrow them in a year or two. I was told to order a size up to give some room to grow and they fit well. They do scuff very easily in the toe area and that is why I took off a star. He seems to like them after using them at the rink for the first time. They are very popular skates, especially for beginners and children. I would recommend them for beginners.**Update** My son likes these skates. However, the toe area has scuffed badly after only two times at the skating rink. Even though they have room for him to grow, I am not sure the boot will last that long. I may have to order toe scuff protectors if they even have those for these skates.4Roller girl!I am so so happy with these skates! I used to skate as a teenager regularly and have recently had the urge to pick up the hobby again. I didn't want to spend the money on a top of the line pair of Reidell skates if I barely used them, and the Pacer skates seemed like the mid-grade choice. I received them on time, even after ordering around a holiday. I put them on right away and have been skating around my neighborhood every day since! These work just fine outdoors, although I will probably invest in a good pair of Atom outdoor wheels. I wear a size 10 in women's shoes but after reading many other reviews I ordered the men's 8 (women's 9) they fit perfect! Overall great purchase and I'm very very happy with the product!5Great product, terrible body! The product is great...I just didn't realize how much I'd SUCK at it 20 something years later hahahahahahaSeriously, I think I was about 14 the last time I zoomed around a roller rink. The only thing zooming now is my heart rate as my life flashes before my eyes....and that's just trying to stand with out falling ;) I also think someone moved the ground...it didn't seem so far away last time! But again, that's my lack of balance, muscle tone, fitness etc...The skates fit well. I usually wear a 9.5 Wide shoe, and the size 9 was great. The wheels themselves rolled smoothly, even if I did not.5Good beginner skateA little bigger than expected. Good beginner skate. Wheels were a little to hard for me when I started out. Making them my outdoor skates and replacing the Mach 5 wheels with Atom 78a outdoor wheels. Also make sure to buy toe guards or add duct tape on the toes. They are easily scuffed.3I love my skates (UPDATED 2 years AFTER)Dear seller i had the necessity to update my review after 2 years of this purchase. I HAVE TO SAY THANK YOU SO MUCH because these skates have given me the best hours of happiness in my life since the time i decided to be a roller skater again ( i ment 2 years ago), they are nowadays the best companion in long routes over my city , I live in Ecuador btw. The good quality and performance of them never have let me down, neither in rough streets nor in downhills. After these 2 years i still using the same originals bearings...I jump sidewalks and some times i have gone to skate park to do some bombing with them, let me tell you that these pacers are still in good shape after the hard work i ve given them.So people out there if you want to buy these pacers dont hesitate ,and contact me if u have further questions o want to know more details ofmy experience. THESE RS ROCKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!PS I changed the wheels because i needed grippy wheels for maximum control on cement, asphalt or uncoated outdoor surfaces.I love my skates !!! the unique problem is i ordered 8 and i didnt know the rollers always come a little bit big .So i should ordered size 75Good newbie skate but replace the wheels for outdoor use!I bought these when I was wondering if I wanted to get into roller derby, as an inexpensive but passable first pair of skates, figuring I would upgrade to a fancier pair later. I still love these skates, though, and they are now mainly my skates for practicing outside, after I replaced the wheels with outdoor wheels. I wear these much more often than my "fancier" more expensive skates, and they are more comfortable. The bearings aren't great, but if you aren't trying to be super fast, they'll be fine. The trucks are lightweight.5A truly honest reviewI spent a long time reading reviews for these skates before purchasing. I am honestly mad that the skates had so many good reviews.I just switched to Jackson s. There was a WORLD of difference. The bearings and wheels on these are terrible and lose momentum instantly. The thick boot padding is not at all flexible with your ankles and will leave you bruised. If you are looking for an affordable pair of skates and are serious about derby or any other skating sports just save up for some Reidell s or Jackson s. Even if you have to wait a few weeks, you re better off in brownies saving your $80 because their effectiveness is about the same. Also the loop to prevent the tongue from sliding ripped on both skates the instant I put pressure on the laces to tighten them.Don t buy these skates.2Great for the novice skater...So after a 20 year break from roller skating, I'm now a mom and my days at the skate rink have returned. Turns out, I love it just as much as I did when I was a kid and the rental skates were killing me. Since we have been going weekly, I decided to bite the bullet and order some skates of my own. I was hesitant to spend $150+ on skates, since who knows how long my kid will go with me. I debated between these and the Ridell Dart skates, but ultimately decided on these, since the wheels had better feedback than the stock ones on the Darts. I didn't want to spend more on skates AND have to replace the wheels right away.Right out of the box, I was thrilled with these skates. I'm a 7.5 women's shoe (that sometimes wears an 8 in some cuts) and I ordered a men's size 6. They fit me fine with actually a little bit of room to spare. As soon as I put them on, I was in heaven- the skates were super comfy and right away, I was able to skate backwards (which I could NOT do with the rental skates). That said, the area around the ankle is a little stiff and wore my skin a bit, but I'm hoping that will break in.Overall, these are fantastic skates for the price. If you are looking to get away from rental skates, without breaking the bank, these are a great choice. I'm thinking of getting into outdoor skating, and for that, I will be getting better skates with outdoor wheels and a replaceable toe stop. But for the rink, these are a winner, for sure!I knocked my review down to 4 stars because of the following draw backs:-the "rainbow" laces I received were not even remotely close to what is pictured and will likely go right in the trash. I ordered new laces-the toe stop is fixed, and I'm learning that means a limited selection of replacements, for different types of skating.-they are a bit stiff out of the box, around the ankle-they wheels were a bit stiff to roll and needed to be loosened a bitI gave 4 stars because these skates:-are great quality for the price-fit me well, even though I'm a half-size shoe-look nice (no more giant logo on the cross strap!)-skate well4GreatI did not realize that these came with both black and pink shoe laces. The pink ones are like super hot pink. They look and feel great they re not super bulky weird looking. I did change the wheels though. The wheels they come with didn t really feel like ones i could use outdoors so i got gummy ones. These do come with washers, i know some don t have that they just have the nuts but these have washers that go on the front and back of the nut. I was not aware of that so i was surprised when i saw that.5Five StarsThis skate is terrific for a beginner. It is well made and i am glad i bought it. I skate outside and it is good on the concrete,it stops when i want it to and i don't feel like i am going to hurt my ankle. I recommend these skates for beginners.5
