    Letters fall outI bought this license plate holder not even a month ago. When I took my vehicle through the car wash THE FIRST TIME, a couple of the letters fell out! I certainly did not expect this at all. Aside from that, when i first installed it, I thought it looked really nice. Now not so much.Follow-up :: Not impressed AT ALL with this product. Not only did the letters fall out, but the entire bottom plate came loose and unattached in transit. Very poor quality that does not last at all. I have had this for less than 2 months and already need to throw it out. 1recommended. light but durable metal frame / plastic insertsi wanted an all-metal frame with embossed / painted letters, but in this day and age this is the best i could find.i bought this frame 11mos ago and i'm back for another for a new car.QUALITY:** metal frame: this is a lightweight metal frame, sturdy enough but not like the more substantial frames they used to make in the 80s and 90s. i'd prefer a little heavier, but this is comparable to most of what you find on the market today.** plastic insert: fairly brightly colored see-thru acrylic. a little more day-glo than i'd like, but not gaudy. unlike the other reviewer, i've had absolutely NO problems with durability, loose letters, fading, breaking, etc. i live in a warm, humid climate and the car is parked outdoors in hawaii 365d/yr. there are some small splinter cracks along the edged of the plastic pieces, but no chips or missing shards. this is the type of cracking you'd expect if you cut hard plastic with a slightly dull blade. you can't see these millimeter-sized cracks unless you get right up next to the frame.PROS: nice appearance, sturdy, durableCONS: some plastic parts 4Very nice looking, but covers up too much license plateI'm proud to be a Boiler, but the PURDUE is too big to be used around your license plate. It totally covers the state name on almost all plates and will almost surely get you pulled over by the town's Barney Fife.....even in West Lafayette, Indiana.Also, it has a sharp edge and will probably scratch your paint. 3Sturdy frame, very bright colorsThe brass and blue is very bright, so don't consider this if you want your car to retain an overall darker look. The frame itself is sturdy and should be much easier to clean than a plastic frame. I recommend this to all UCLA fans and alumni. 5BEWARE Letters Fall OUT!1 of the Gold Letters fell out after about 3 weeks, and the adhesive on the "Minnesota" is starting to give way. I would expect it to last a while, if I am allowed to keep it on my car...A couple things to be aware of:If your state uses a decal in the lower left or right corner of the plate to signify year/month of registration or renewal, this frame will cover up a good portion of that decal.As mentioned by others, the frame only supports 2 screws in the upper section of the frame.There are prongs that will hold your license plate tight to the frame on bottom.Something I have not tried to experiment with yet, but may be a possibility is to place screws in the bottom of the plate and attach them to the car, then hook the frame on the license plate and attach the top screws of the plate to hold everything into place - this might be a solution to those that need all 4 screws in to hold the plate down.All in all, I am very happy with the purchase and hopefully the local police will not force me to remove it because it covers the decal in the lower right for my state. 4Wolverines License Plate HolderPurchased this for my husband for Christmas. He had no idea and was one of his "Santa" presents. He's from Michigan living in Georgia and I had to figure out a way for him to show his U of M Wolverine Pride. He's not a "showy" person with his vehicle, that made this the perfect option. Understated, but it does look great! Thanks for offering so many options. 5Very poor quality. DO NOT BUYReceived from Amazon will all of the letters falling out. Tried to stick back on but they were only held with a thin layer of sticky tape. How well will that hold up in the elements? Getting a refund from Amazon. 1Letters fell off within daysThis product is garbage - and the return policy of the seller is equally poor. My husband added this to his car a couple weeks after receiving the product and letters began falling off within days. He is now without an R, K and E in Boilermakers. He took it off the car soon thereafter and I was about to begin the return process because of aforementioned junky quality of this product and it appears as though I've missed the window. Do not buy this or any other product of this nature - cheaply made and not backed up by the seller. 1
