Description

  • ENJOY YOUR WORKOUT WITHOUT WORRY - Ever find yourself losing track of what lap you are on? This tally lap counter helps you keep track without breaking stride, so you are free to think about something other than what lap you are on.
  • HUNDREDS OF SPORT USES - While this waterproof hand held counter is most often used for counting swim laps, it is also great for walking, running, counting golf strokes, baseball pitches, etc.
  • COUNT JUST ABOUT ANYTHING - You can use the Lap Counter to count anything: attendance, inventory, customers, microbes under a microscope, etc.
  • EASY TO USE - Tracking laps using just one large button makes counting foolproof and easy, and leaves your hands free to do other things
  • ERGONOMIC DESIGN - One hand operation does not interfere with your workout technique which makes this digital counter biomechanically better than a sports watch or tally counter.

Customer Reviews

Greatest little invention for counting!!I had surgery on my arm several months ago and couldn't even walk because of the rotator cuff hurting so bad. Decided to join a indoor walking track to get back in shape. Found this counter and what a surprise!!! Adjustable to fit on any finger and not to big nor bulky. Each time you need to add a lap you press the black button on bottom --works great!! To clear memory hold the button 3-4 seconds and you start from zero again. It shuts itself off when your not using it so they thought of everything. I throw it in my purse so I can use it when needed. Totally happy with the little gadget and highly recommend as convenient and not bulky. 5Excellent customer service.I have owned several of these. The first two stopped working after a couple of months but the one I have now has been going strong for about 9 months. I originally wrote a poor review because I tried to resolve the purchase of the bad ones with the seller rather than the manufacturer. After my original review, the company, SportCounter contacted me directly and offered a free replacement. I don't know of too many companies who go out of their way to contact the purchaser to help resolve a problem. Generally, it is the other way around. I like the product and would highly recommend it. 5but doesn't last...dies after a few monthsworks great when swimming laps, however the one I received went dead after 2 months...dead battery. Company wants $14.95 to change out the battery plus you have to ship it back to them, etc. They also say the battery should last a year but obviously mine didn't. You can replace the watch type battery yourself they say but the device is small, has 4 small screws and they warn you about an O ring that must be replaced exactly or the device is no longer water proof. Not happy with this aspect of the device otherwise I'd recommend it. Manufacturer replaced my original one...but that one died now after 3 months! What is wrong with this counter that it dies out so quickly? Highly priced for not lasting and not being able to change the battery I would not recommend. 1simplicity a virtueSimplicity is a virtue when doing a lot of laps. this counter allowed me to keep track long after my mind had gone foggy on what lap I was on. I am a distance swimmer using a half Olympic pool for winter training. This device makes it possible to keep track without losing focus on breathing, stroke and the like. I had been using a more sophisticated version with lap timer and other features. That was nice for a while then the need went away as had very consistent readings. the simpler unit is enough now. 4EPIC FAILI previously owned a SportCount LapCounter and it worked well for about a year. No problems with that. A year for an underwater product was good enough for me. I then bought two more, so when I did have a failure, I would have a back up. They came May 22nd. I tucked them away in my drawer since I was able to change the battery on the old one. My old eventually failed a soon after, probably because I did not get it sealed properly, but no problem I had back ups. Both of my new counters failed on the first swim. I thought maybe the batteries were old. Nope that was not it. They may have had a bad run of products and now I am paying the price since they were back-ups I am past the return time by a month. So what was a good product has become a bad product because they are not watching their quality control. And if there was an issue there should have been some notification there was something wrong. Would not feel comfortable buying again. Out $60 and I don't have a convenient way to count my laps. 1My Favorite Gift to Me!Six months ago, we purchased a home with an indoor lap pool. We determined that 55 laps equals a half mile, and I have been swimming a half mile every day for the last 6 months. The problem with swimming 55 laps is that you have to count to 55 while you're swimming, practicing mindfulness, and meditating on a certain level. Countless times (no pun intended) I lost count. I thought to myself that there must be some type of counting device that is waterproof, and I found this wonderful lap tracker. I used it for the first time today, and it allowed me to focus on the things that are most important -- and not counting. I have small hands, and I was concerned that the counter would be too large. But it is flexible and adjustable and perfect! 5Easy to use lap counterMy review is for the product only - not service or price. It counts my laps accurately and without any problems. I have used it for over 50 trips to the pool, 40 laps each time, since I got the counter. This device is not attractive but it is easy to use. I would probably buy another one if I lost it.That said, it is way overpriced at $30 for what you get. This is less substantial than the cheapest digital watch. The only alternatives I could find were at swim gear shops and are much more sophisticated and tend to be watches with lap counters added on. They run in price from $50 to a couple of hundred dollars. 5Nice!This is just what I was looking for! An easy to use lap counter for when I swim. The neoprene band has a number of size options, so it is easy to fit to any index finger. Position it so you can tap the button with your thumb each time you make a turn. The LCD screen is fairly easy to read, even in the water. My only suggestion for improvement would be more tactile feedback for the button press.Update: I have been using this now for 7 months, on average 3 days per week. It has become as natural in my swimming routine as my goggles and bathing suit. It has always performed flawlessly and never fails me. If it ever dies, I will order a new one. 5Simple, but does its one task very well!I'm super happy with this device. It's small, stays in place on my index finger throughout my admittedly sweaty interval running workouts, and is designed so that it's nearly impossible to log a lap unintentionally. The single button takes a firm press to register a lap and has a pleasing rubberized feel. The display isn't particularly bright, yet nor is it hard to read. Tightness of the band is determined by how many notches you clamp down, with a healthy range of widths to choose from; you'd have to sport some massive sausage fingers or have bird bones to not find one that works for you. The single issue I have is that it costs $30+ for such simple tech, but hey it's filling a niche in the market and does its one job well. I recommend this 5Failed on the third lap - filled with water! This is a "preliminary" review, and I may modify it in the future depending on the response of SportCount. I received this lap counter on Monday, and got in the pool with it Tuesday morning. It failed by lap 3, as it had filled with water! So not really water proof. I have seen some other reviews that started off bad, but then were resolved favorably by SportCount, so I am hoping for that kind of outcome here also. I'll update this review later. Also, the displayed numbers on the actual screen are not as large as shown in the advertisement photos. The photos show that the numbers are as large as the display screen. They are actually somewhere around 60% of the screen size. They are a little difficult to see underwater (I wear prescription goggles, so my near vision is not as clear as my far vision). It would be better if the numbers were as large as is shown in the photos of the item. 1
