    STYLISH & GREAT CHOICE FOR LARGER HEAD SIZE!I was delighted to find a warm hat that fit comfortably on my head. Most hats of this type fit too smugly. Therefore, if you have a large head this is a good choice for you. The only reason I gave a four [4] star rating is because the hat I received was not a true "wine" color. I wanted the wine color to match a wine colored coat I own. Instead, the hat I received was more of a dark burnt-orange or rust, similar to the color of the last fallen leaves of Autumn. Yet, I have a rusty-colored wool scarf to match this hat which I wear with my black coat.Did I mention the cost? This comfortable hat is very reasonable in price, and is very stylish; comfortable to wear on cold winter days.I recommend this hat for individuals who have difficulty finding a hat that fits well on larger head.Respectfully,Maizie Lucille JamesFebruary 7, 2017. .=============UPDATE: FEBRUARY 18, 2017I decided to purchase this hat in PLUM. If you have a large head and need a comfortable warm wool winter hat, this Scala style will fit.5Great Hat!!I just adore this hat!! I purchased it for a trip to the UK, hoping it would repel light rain and mist, which it did very well. It kept my head warm and yet did not ruin my hair. Plus I think it looks super cute and stylish :)5I liked it ok but it was a little bigI liked it ok but it was a little big; I consider my hat size average. When I wore it completely pulled down on my head, the hat would cover my eye brows, which was too long. If I didn't pull the hat down, it looked silly. I ended up sewing the two seams together in the back of the hat so the two seams were separate in the front, but tapered into one seam in the back. You can't see the stitching at all because the seam hides it. Now the hat fits and looks a lot better. I still like the hat because it's warm comfortable and durable, but I had to fix it to fit my head so 3 stars.3My favorite hat!I am so very pleased with this hat! Several weeks ago, I was in a shop in Ashville, NC desperately seeking an attractive hat as the temperature had suddenly dropped and we were headed for an outdoor event. This was by far the most attractive and versatile style. Other women must have agreed, as only one wine colored and one white Dorfman Cloche hat remained in the store! The hat was extremely comfortable and the wine color was surprisingly attractive. Unlike so many hats I have purchased, this one actually fits!(Considering I usually wear a women's large in hats, that is wonderful!) As another reviewer mentioned, it stretches to fit even a large head, yet it does not LOOK as if it has been stretched to accomodate the wearer. The hat's style and shape are flattering (Several people complimented me on my hat on the day I first wore it) and it is quite WARM!!!! I came home and within a week ordered the hat in black from Amazon.It is so nice to finally find a hat that is actually attractive as well as functional. Fits My LARGE Head!I bought this hat (in black) because I wanted something different from a "stocking hat" for this winter. (My coat doesn't have a hood and I'm not ready to replace my coat when I can buy a hat.) This hat is both warm, stylish, and keeps the rain off my head and from going down my neck.I am not a hat wearing person. I look ridiculous in them. I wish I could say otherwise but it is what it is. Even people with large heads who look silly in hats need to keep their heads warm. First of all, what do I mean by large? I measured and the circumference of my head is 23-inches! This hat is stretchy and fits snuggly but not tightly. I did read another reviewer's advice to wet the hat slightly and then put it on and stretch it out a bit to adjust its size. The fit as it is, is fine for me, so I haven't done that. To help further, I hope; I'll tell you that my hair is long and straight. Maybe more hair would also affect the fit?As to how it looks, on me, not that bad. Much, much, much better than a stocking hat! I don't feel goofy wearing it. It seems to me that the style is also a classic one and I'll get quite a bit of use from it. Cloche hats have been around a LONG time...but style is a fickle thing. In, out, in , out, round, and round.As advertised, it is 100% boiled wool and therefore has the property of some scratchiness, so I was expecting scratchiness. However, I was looking my hat over and think that I could easily sew in a fabric band if I decide I just can't stand it. I have some scrap flannel that I think will work nicely. The other property of wool is that it lasts and lasts...so if this hat does go out of style (not that I worry about that--I am no fashionista) it will still be around, when it comes BACK into fashion. :-)5Great hat!This is a very nice hat. Be aware, the color isn't really a navy - more of a dark violet. Well-made, warm, stylish. Fits my large skull but someone with a smaller skull might find it a bit roomy. I pinned a colorful vintage brooch to the side of the crown which added a little "zip" to the hat's appearance. I've received many compliments already in the brief time I've been wearing this hat.5Perfect winter hatI love hats but hate the knitted kind and the felt kind are a pain to store and keep in shape. The crushable wool hat is just the thing to keep your head covered and warm in the coldest weather while giving you style. Get inside and stuff the thing in your pocket. Take it out and it's good as new. I've tried ear warmers but all they do is keep your ears warm while most of your body heat is lost through the rest of your scalp. This hat solves that problem and you'll stay comfy plus the brim can be shaped in many ways and the soft wool can be adorned with pins (if that's your fancy). It comes in many colors, too. Love it!4PERFECT HAT!RalphE's wife here: I have a smaller head and it fits perfectly. I think someone suggested, if you need to stretch it, to spray the band with water and wear it for a while. I LOVE this hat. It is so cute. The brim is just wide enough and it frames the face nicely. All my woolen hats get a good spraying with Scotch Guard, inside and out, before I wear them. I am ordering more in other colors.I do not find this hat scratchy at all. I love it so much that I am getting more of them. The brim is perfect and can be molded in different styles. The hat is crushable and can be stuffed into a pocket or purse or luggage. It fits comfortably enough and does not feel as though a stiff city wind will sweep it off your head.I ordered a Brown and a Walnut and got two browns. The Walnut, on the display, is darker with a bit more red in it. These should not be shown as two different colors if the ACTUAL hats are so close in color that only an artist can tell the difference.5Wrong color! (Camel = Orange?!)While very cute, this hat was assuredly NOT camel colored, but more like a pumpkin or rusty paprika color! I will keep it because it matches a winter scarf I have, but I am quite disappointed with the color. I wore it last night anyway, and did get compliments despite the bizarre color.As for the hat itself, it is comfortable and warm, quite roomy, probably great if you have a lot of hair to stuff inside a hat.If you re wearing it on a hairless head, it s probably going to be too large and possibly itchy. I think it would be fine to wear overtop of a turban for chemo patients, and would likely fit better that way.I haven t been out in the wind with it yet, but it feels like it ll stay in place pretty well. I was out in a light drizzle, and my head stayed nice and dry under the warm and cozy hat.I have placed an order for the taupe color, so I shall write a review about that one once I receive it. I really hope it s going to be an actual taupe color!3Perfect Hat!So glad I read the positive reviews and ordered this! It is lovely, warm and comfortable and provides a little extra sun protection in winter. Took it out of the box and wore it on a long afternoon dog walk in chilly weather, and no "hat hair" afterward. Did I mention it looks lovely? I mean, this is a seriously flattering hat. You can't go wrong. Accentuates your cheekbones and jawline, de-emphasizes your nose, just like another reviewer said. It's nice enough to wear with a dress to work or to an event but casual and soft enough to wear with jeans for any old reason at all. And it's completely crushable, so it will be perfect for travel. I got the wine color, which will go great with green, brown, blue or black clothing--just about anything. Even so, I love this so much I just ordered two more: one in charcoal and another in plum. This is a great find!P.S. My head is small, about 22.5" measured from the top of the neck, over the ears, and around the forehead. There is plenty of room in this hat, but it's not too big. It would still fit if my head were quite a bit bigger OR slightly smaller, so it will probably fit YOU! I'm not yet sure if it's washable. Maybe it would hold up to a careful cold-water soak with Woolite and air drying, but since I just bought it I don't have a need to try. Will update this when I know...5
