    We love this trailerWe love this trailer, and so do our pups. They walk right in and know adventure is ahead! We get loads of comments on it, and them. This trailer feels very much like there's nothing attached to your bike. We've used this about 10 times in the short time we've had it and I'm not sure why we didn't get one sooner. The plastic window is great for high winds or rain (we unintentionally tested it, pups were dry as a bone). The number of windows is perfect for our little ones to see out. The only thing I wish this trailer had is double zippers on the front and/or back. 5Better than expected - great buy.This is exactly what we were looking for! It arrived quickly and was simple to assemble all by myself. The only thing it really needed was for the tires to be pumped up. It is light weight but sturdy - the quality is BETTER than we expected! We can fold it up and roll in the in the back of our community bike closet out of everyone's way. Roll it out, unfold and go! It also fits nicely in our small car trunk. We looked at carriers over $300 - but not being sure our active beagle would even go for a ride easily we needed a starter carrier just to try out for a time. The leash hookup keeps him contained and the non-stick pad is great. We paid about 98 for the carrier and that was a deal --- this new lower price should make it no contest. 5Amazing for the pet loverI would highly recommend this to anyone who has a dog and a bike... Maybe even a cat too. This setup works on almost every bike including those with a quick release for the rear wheel, there is a spring-loaded hinge that accommodates different heights and angles.By the way the dog in the photo is between 30 and 40 pounds and this trailer handles like a breeze, you can easily accommodate many more items such as a few bottles of water and what not 5Would give 10 stars if I couldMy boyfriend has been bugging me to go bike riding with him but I never wanted to because I didn't want to leave my little fur baby behind. I didn't want to just attach her leash to my bike handle and ride with her along side because it's just such a dangerous idea. So we decided to get this pet trailer so we could take her with us safely. This is one of the best purchases I have made in a long time. And compared to other pricier pet trailers out there that are hundreds of dollars, I have no doubt that I made the right choice in this one. It was only $85.00 when I paid for it. Worth every penny and then some!It only took a few minutes for us to put it together. My boyfriend is an avid cyclist and kept praising how well designed it is. They thought of everything when they designed this pet trailer! There's a small little strap and hook to attach to her harness so she doesn't get too far if she tries to jump out. My boyfriend mentioned some mechanism on the wheels that help absorb the bumpiness on the road to ensure a smoother ride for our pup. There's a small pocket on the top if you want to store the pins after taking it apart and folding up. All the features it is designed with are functional and practical. There aren't many bells and whistles on this and that's how we like it. It's very cute and the little flag is adorable. Aesthetically it is very tastefully designed. It's also very sturdy. I have a 23-25lb beagle and there is plenty of room inside for her and another dog if one of her buddies wanna hitch a ride. We put a blanket and some toys with her but she doesn't care. She just loves the feel of the wind blowing through her ears. She looks so cute riding in it and she really seems to enjoy it. (see pic) When we're done with our bike ride, it folds up nice and neat to store until next time. We have alternated with attaching the trailer to each of our bikes and we both felt that there was barely any extra weight we were pulling and it was very smooth. Neither of us felt a difference. He even fights with me over who gets to pull her on the bike!As others have mentioned there is a strong rubbery smell when we first unpacked it however it went away after letting it sit out of the box overnight. After our bike ride the next day the smell went away. It is not that big of a deal.So my boyfriend concluded there is no reason for us to drive anywhere from now on now that we have our bike riding solution for our little baby. All that's left now is to get her a little doggie helmet and we will be all set. :) 5Happy boy! My little dog loves this trailer. He was not so happy with it all zipped up, but as soon as I unzipped the front he was a happy boy! My daughter was behind me so he was looking back. But normally he just hand out in the front and enjoys the view. 5PLEASE BE CAREFULPLEASE BE CAREFUL: Three rides, tipped over twice. Engineer by trade so not just some knucklehead making false claims or doing irresponsible things on the bike. Puppy is 40 lbs, 20% below max weight requirement but she likes to stand up making the center of gravity too high for even minor corrections. I guess if I closed the flap in the front she'd be forced to lie down, but that's no fun! My plans are to widen the wheel base and add extra weight to the frame. Just want everyone to know to be careful. Straight is great, but don't make any type of sudden correction. FYI: puppy is fine, first wreck was super slo-mo turning off a rail trail but second one was about 13 mph and she got a little road rash on her chin ;( 3Golden Retriever Success!This was such a success! Super fast shipping too! :) 5Fabulous high quality, reasonably priced trailerA rescue dog adopted us about three months ago. One of the first things he asked us to buy was this nifty dog carrier. He likes it because the construction is excellent, it rolls well, is roomy, he can see out, and it has a safety lead to make sure he is safe and sound no matter what happens. Also, he thought it was even better when we purchased a cushy standard sized crate insert for the bottom, which helped him to get a better grip on the situation. We like that it is super easy to mount on a bike, and just leave the quick release on our bikes at all times because it's no big deal. 5If undecided, me too but ended up liking alotWhen my wife and I decided to retire our child trailer after more than twenty years of service we found the offerings slim for a dedicated dog trailer for our 10 lbs bichion "peaches". Despite the brand name and great price, the schwinn rascal pet trailer seemed low on features, heavy in weight, and cheaply made judging by the specs. We purchased it because there weren't alot of other options, and after using it for three months i can say I'm glad we did. The build quality is good and it cleans up well. The construction is simple with easy put up and take down and it stores well. I like to keep the wheels on for maximum ease of use (see photo). Our dog seems comfortable or as much as she can be for being in a confined space. The rascal has plenty of room for lunch bags, beach towels or other small items. Unless your focused on time trials, the added weight is no big deal. Most importantly the wow factor is not lost. You know, watching the delighted anb bewildered expressions of other riders realizing you've got your dog along for the ride. Only a small subset of dedicated riders, dog owners and excentrics know what I'm talking about here.Cons include already showing some signs of whear and a low profile which makes it difficult to look back while riding to check on your dog. Would also have liked to see a screen window in the back of the trailer so that peaches can see my wife riding behind. All in all an excellent price and product. Hope you found this review useful. Please note peaches not pictured to protect her privacy and anonymity. 5Dangerous. Almost seriously hurt my dog!I bought this carrier and at first loved it. Unfortunately the towing mechanism is not engineered for all turning situations. I was riding my bike on a bike trail and took a normal right hand turn. I did not hit a bump, have the carrier go off the path, or any other obvious conditions that would make the carrier unstable. I was only going about 12 to 15 MPH (thank goodness) because the carrier flipped over on the top and upon doing so I was thrown from the bike! Luckily somehow via luck my dog was not hurt seriously (I think the blanket I had in the carrier helped cushion him) but the carrier was significantly scratched up, the screen torn, and some other cosmetic damage.I wouldn't trust this thing at all anymore and will be throwing it out. Don't make the same mistake I did and put your dog at risk! I don't see a way to return this to the manufacturer since its been over 30 days but I will be sending an email asking if there are any options to Amazon and Schwinn. 1
