    Great Fit and Feeling Secur(Shortboard surfer transitioning into longboard skateboarder) I'm 5'4, 117 pounds, and I purchased the small size. It fits really well and the quality is pretty good. I fear less about falling with this gear on. I am not planning to do hard core tricks, just cruise. Thus this gear is just right. 5Great qualityI am 27 and decided to learn how to longboard. I am not as adventurous as my younger self so I decided to get protective gear. I got M runs a bit big I probably could of gotten the S but works great! 5Heads up: Junior size comes with TINY knee padsIf you're a petite adult ordering these, go with the small, even if your hands are small enough to fit into the junior wrist guards.I ordered the Junior size because I have small hands, and the product description said the knee and elbow pads were the same size in all four sets. Item shipped in 2 days with standard shipping (which was fantastic!). Everything looks well made- wrist guards and elbow pads fit well, but the knee pads that came with it were built for a small child. I could get them on but they barely cover my knee cap, and wouldn't do much to protect me in the case of a roller skating fall. I returned these and went back to order the small size instead. I'll update this review when they arrive- fingers crossed that they fit! 4I'll eventually have to upgrade to some better quality knee pads because these don't really seem to ...I bought this for starting Roller Derby. They're inexpensive and not the lowest quality so I decided to give it a try. The elbow and knee pads are one size fits all and the sizing goes for the wrist guards. I ordered the small and I probably could have got a medium even though I have very small hands. I'll eventually have to upgrade to some better quality knee pads because these don't really seem to cushion enough. I also have a feeling the material will crack after a few too many falls. Just from learning falls the first day at practice I developed a gigantic bruise on one of my knees. If you don't plan on actively falling constantly, these are a good choice. I'd probably stick to using them for more leisurely purposes though. Also the knee pads will definitely not be as helpful as I thought. I have major bruises. 3Excellent protective padding set for a beginner skateboarderMy wife and I purchased a skateboard for our small five year old son at Christmas and also decided to try this series of protective gear as well. This Triple 8 pack includes two knee pads, two elbow pads and two palm and wrist guards. The materials are mostly stitched nylon, plastic cups and velcro fasteners. I ordered the size appropriate for a five year old and the protective pads actually fit very well. They are also fairly easy to put on and take off and have already saved my son from one elbow scratch. Now if they would just make a butt pad as well :) All kidding aside, these are great little pads for the beginner skateboarder. If you child is in to skateboarding more seriously or is spending a great deal of time with it, I might go with something more rugged but for my small son's needs, this hits the spot. Five stars. 5Pads for low impact activity.These pads would be fine for a child doing a low impact activity. I bought these for my 12 year old for junior roller derby and they are just not enough protection for a high impact sport. The wrist guards however are totally fine. The knee pads and elbow pads are small, thin, and are only held on by two elastic straps with velcro. She was only able to use the wrist guards and I had to buy better elbow and knee pads. The knee and elbow pads are not really flexible. I don't recommend these for higher level of play for roller derby but for a junior(under the age of 12) beginner they will get them through until you are able to upgrade. The price point is great as far as lower end pads go. 4Good for beginnersI purchased these when I began an adult roller derby academy about three months ago, knowing nothing about padding or the fact that more substantial pads were available and might be more appropriate. I have already retired the knee and elbow pads from this set and upgraded to the EP55 (elbow pads) and KP22 (knee pads) from Triple 8 instead. This set would be good for a true beginner who doesn't know if they want to continue with roller sports, but as soon as I realized I might be continuing with skating for a while, buying more substantial pads made sense. 4Only for gentle/kids useThese certainly are the "saver series". However, the save part is price not protection. While I liked the cost and the concept, the padding is a bit too little and moves too much to really be useful. I think the hard part is that you are looking at three different sets of pads and unless you happen to get very lucky, the odds of all three fitting appropriately are next to none. In my case (adult female), the knee pads fit but were not very padded, the elbow pads were ok but also less padded than expected and moved around too much to feel comfortable, and the wrist guards were way too big out of the package, let alone how they will do after use. Sadly, I will be returning these as they will not fit my needs but I could see them as a good value kids, recreational (skating around the park) pads. 2Roller Derby BeginnerI just started roller derby and didn't want to spend a ton on gear. I made a good choice with this set. We've done a ton of knee slides and knee tap drills, and my knees have felt zero pain. :) 5Meh, don t buy if you re more than 20 lbsI m an old lady who just started up skateboarding again to teach my son the sport. In honor of not having been on a board in the last 20 years I decided I needed to gear up for the occasion. I am 5 6 and roughly 130lbs.-these do not fit snug, they are just straps that go around, whereas some of the more durable pads first have to be pulled up like a sleeve and then velro has to be tightened for a snug fit. In the event I ever fall I know for sure these will slide out of place leaving me with nasty road rash. I kept this set only for the wrist gaurds and dont bother with the rest. I will find something more along the lines of the protec that I got for my son because I put those on and feel way more protected. 2
