    Very easy to untie!This is my first impression review. I really like these laces so I explain the best feature so far. For now, I can not speak for it's durability. What I love about the laces over normal cotton laces is that it feels hard. The hardness is important because it allows the laces to be easily untied. Since they are hard, they don't expand and contract when they get wet, and won't untie itself. The stiffness also makes it easy to pull on the laces to tighten up the shoe. Ever experienced shoes that felt unevenly tight or too tight on certain parts of your feet? This should help. I no longer have foot pain. 5Excellent Lace for Ice Climbing BootsI bought a pair a few years ago to replace a failed lace on my hard ice climbing expedition boots. They have changed the guidance on the number of holes so it actually makes sense now. They used to say 45" was for 10 eyelets which is totally not true so I used a double fisherman's bend to tie two 45" laces together for a 10 eyelet boot and it's held perfectly. Their sizing guidance seems more reasonable now. The laces have held up very well over several seasons and are seemingly impervious to cold weather, water, freezing, and the extreme forces applied to the boot late when ice climbing. They stay tied just fine. Highly recommended. It has worked so well I'm going to order another identical length pair for the other boot :-) 5WOW!!! These are the last laces you will buy for years.I have had these laces for several years now and they're exactly as advertised and tough. I've been through about a dozen boots so far anything from casual to rough terrain to construction to farming you name it. These laces have only came undone maybe once or twice in that time frame. I have these on all of my boots and shoes and this is the only pair of laces that I will EVER buy from here on out. I highly recommend these laces if you're in a high risk environment and need your boots to be secure. I am actually buying new pairs to go on my other Snake boots and dress shoes today. And I hardly ever write reviews on any product but I wanted to take the time to write a proper review on these today, because this is a solid product. 5Great boot stringsI break shoestrings about once a month ... like my boots tight fitting. These are a little stiff, but tir a tight knot. They show no signs of breaking any time soon.Update: After 4 months of every day use, no sign of weak spots, nor wear other than a little discoloration. Usually go through 4 or more boot strings in that amount of time ... Need my boots sinched to my feet as tight as I can get them. They've paid for themselves already. I'll probably never buy another kind of boot lace again. Very impressed. 5Keep up the good work Iron lace!Stronger than steel? Maybe. Stronger than my previous laces? You betcha! I've been wearing them for two(2) months and not a single fray showing. Regular laces would have broke by now and the rugged, hikers laces would be fraying on at least one, if not both. My job is tough on boots and laces. On a side note, I wonder if the guys at the company know that steel is stronger than iron? You see, they're called IRONlace then they claim to be stronger than... nevermind.Edit 3/9/14: One(1) year follow-up,WOW! I'm absolutely amazed that these laces have lasted an entire year. The only issue I've had so far... the plastic tip on the end of one lace has come off. These laces have survived three(3) pairs of boots now. I bought a second set of laces a few months ago thinking I would eventually need them and I actually lost them waiting for my first set to break. I'll never put another lace in my work boots again.I can't comment on the color fade issue other reviewers have noticed. I work outdoors in all weather conditions and mine get soaked regularly so they're pretty bad color wise. I can't tell if its staining or fade to be honest. 5AWESOME laces!!!Unlike some people, I usually wait to post a review until after I've used the product for a while and this is no different. My work boots have the open metal eyelets the laces loop around (as opposed to through) which have a massive appetite and eat up laces often when you draw them tight. Since I bought these laces, my boots haven't eaten in 10 weeks and the laces aren't showing signs of wear! I have seen other reviews that say they have to be retied frequently. This may be true for some and in the beginning I found if I use the regular bow knot and pull the bows REALLY tight they won't loosen up all day. However now I don't have to pull so tight and they are fine. 5They don't breakI was breaking a pair of laces a week on my Rocky boots because the top slip in lace parts were too close to the boot. I tried bending them out but the metal breaks if you try to bend them out, I broke 2 trying.I bought these laces and have not broken one in the month I have had them. Taking the boots off two or three times a day changing clothes while bow hunting. They are "slippery" so you have to double tie the top knot and tuck extra length into the boot; not a problem. I will buy more for all my boots. 5Well made but loosen upVery solid but the claim that they "stay tight" is false, for me at least. They are very slippery by touch and just during the act of tying them they slip. Have to double knot and retie often. They will probably last forever but hope they lose their slipperiness 2Really pleasedSo far so good! I don't go climbing or scuffing though the woods and underbrush, but I work in my boots and so far these laces seem to be doing great. I have a pair of boots that in pretty much every other way are great, but the bootlace eyelets are rough. I've had the boots about a year and I've gone through three other sets of laces. These have seen enough use to be showing wear from the eyelets if they were going to wear out and break like the other ones did. Unlaced them and checked, and they are still looking good. They are a little stiff, but I haven't had any problems with them not staying tied, which was something I was concerned about when I read other reviews. You do have to pull them tighter than cheap laces, but when you do, I'm not sure, but I think they stay tied better. 5Strong but FadedPros: The laces seem very sturdy, and don't come undone if you double knot them.Cons: Faded to gray/silver/white in less than a week. I'm not just talking about where they rub the grommets, but even in the places that don't move at all. 2
